Financial Planning and Energy Risk Accounting

Lead oversees end-to-end Energy Risk Accounting (ERA) operations, ensuring business objectives are met while driving continuous improvement. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, managing financial activities, maintaining accounting integrity, and mitigating risks in reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ERA Operations : Manage stock recording and reconciliation, purchase invoicing, mass balancing, and stock valuation across the business.
  • Drive Operational Excellence : Establish monitoring mechanisms for timely intervention and continuous improvement of ERA processes.
  • Support Change Programs : Lead and support initiatives related to the S4 HANA roadmap for ERA processes.
  • Team Management & Collaboration : Coach and manage the BPO ERA team; work closely with Site PHEA, Refinery Ops, and Supply teams to develop efficient ways of working.
  • Process Improvement : Identify structural issues in ERA processes, provide solutions, and ensure rapid resolution of significant HM issues with business partners.
  • Financial Controls : Implement and monitor financial controls to mitigate reporting risks and ensure compliance.
  • Month-End Close Oversight : Supervise the ERA month-end closing process and related reporting activities.
  • Skill Development & Digital Literacy : Promote a learning culture, enhance team digital skills, and drive continuous E2E process improvement.
  • Safety & Compliance : Perform duties in line with safety practices and contribute to projects and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, with a solid understanding of costing principles.
  • Knowledge of Refinery and / or Chemicals business and financial processes is preferred, including exposure to stock recording, reconciliation, settlements, mass balancing, and valuation.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with the ability to apply them practically.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify underlying issues and connect them to financial and business principles.
  • Leadership abilities to drive change, influence stakeholders, and implement process improvements.
  • Resilient in managing change, with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • High-level interpersonal skills, including effective communication and writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and reliability.
  • Strong IT proficiency, capable of managing large datasets using various tools and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
