Safety Officer (Expression of Interest)

Location : Sorowako, South Sulawesi

The opportunity

Due to on-going growth and upcoming project activities, we are looking for Safety Officer to join our Industrial team in Sorowako (South Sulawesi), Indonesia. This role is on a fixed term basis for 10 months with the opportunity for contract extension.

Safety Officer (Fixed Term – Expression of Interest)

Role Purpose and Key Accountabilities

Assisting Safety Superintendent to ensure compliance with HSE legislation, rules and regulations

Assisting safety superintendent to provide professional and accurate HSE support and advice across a range of activities including, legislation, communications, programs, policies and procedures.

Support the business in relation to HSE including workers compensation, accidents and injuries, site procedures, HSE plan, training, audits, identification and implementation of corrective and preventive measures.

Assisting safety superintendent to deliver of the company HSE strategy.

Assisting on the Implementation of the Project HSE Plan.

Attend and participate in company HSE committee meetings

Support the delivery of HSE related projects on time and budget.

Ensure HSE documentation, reports and correspondencesis accurate and managed confidentially.

Monitor contractor HSE performance in the field.

Be capable of writing and reviewing JSA’s.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have :

Holding bachelor's degree with relevant education background or related certification.

Holding a POP qualification preferred.

Having 3-5 years working experience in similar role, preferably from engineering consultant company and having experience as safety / HSE site personnel.

Having extensive knowledge and understanding related HSE regulation in Indonesia.

Proficient in MS suite of Apps – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.

Able to communicate (written and verbal) in English.

Proven ability in implementing HSE systems and HSE Plans on construction projects.

Awareness of the requirements of SMKP, SMK3, ISO 45001.

Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.

Willingness to learn new processes and applications.

Preferably having experience and / or expertise in fields of scaffolding, lifting and transportation equipment and / or electrical system.

Preferably having experience in construction for Power Plant, Oil and Gas, and / or Mining & Metals sites.
