Job Description
The IT Manager is responsible for the management, implementation, and usability of technology systems in the hotel. This role ensures that the IT infrastructure supports all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, accounting, food and beverage systems, reservations, and guest internet services. The IT Manager works closely with other department heads to meet their technology needs and resolve technical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities :
Systems Management :
Oversee daily operation of all IT systems, including servers, networks, PMS (Property Management System), POS (Point of Sale), CRM, telephone systems, CCTV, and Wi-Fi.
Ensure system backups are performed regularly, and data integrity is maintained.
Support and Maintenance :
Provide technical support to hotel staff and ensure prompt resolution of IT issues.
Maintain IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, routers, switches, and other peripheral devices.
Security and Compliance :
Implement cybersecurity measures to protect hotel systems and guest information.
Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
Project Management :
Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, software implementations, or infrastructure improvements.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for support and procurement.
Budgeting and Procurement :
Plan and manage the IT budget.
Evaluate and recommend hardware / software for purchase in alignment with hotel's needs.
Training and Development :
Train staff on IT procedures, software use, and best practices.
Stay updated with current technology trends and recommend innovations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT support or management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of hotel systems (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, MICROS, etc.) is an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
