Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef specializing in Chinese Cuisine to join our culinary team in Bogor, Indonesia. As the Chef - Chinese Cuisine, you will be responsible for creating authentic and innovative Chinese dishes while leading our kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
- Develop and execute menu items that showcase authentic Chinese flavors and techniques
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Manage inventory, control food costs, and minimize waste
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and culinary traditions
- Collaborate with the management team to create seasonal menus and special promotions
- Maintain quality control and consistency in all dishes served
- Participate in menu planning and recipe development to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food delivery
- Stay updated on current culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings when appropriate
Qualifications
Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institutionMinimum 5 years of experience as a Chinese cuisine chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchenIn-depth knowledge of Chinese regional cuisines, cooking techniques, culinary history, and traditionsExpertise in Chinese cuisine preparation techniques and proficiency in using Chinese cooking equipment and utensilsStrong menu planning and development skillsThorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with current food safety certificationExcellent kitchen management and team leadership abilitiesStrong communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plusProven ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environmentCreativity and passion for creating innovative Chinese dishes while maintaining authenticityAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
