Part 2 : Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Report to CPD Production Supervisor

Undergo the relevant training on any weld process whenever required.

Participate in and contribute to weekly toolbox talks.

Strive to produce at least one stop card per week. EHS participation is both encouraged and expected.

Must ensure personnel safety at all times, and the safety of all others. Adhere to shop safety procedures and work instructions.

Maintain and meet housekeeping standards as determined.

Agree to undergo overhead crane operation training, rigger and signal man training to assist in moving & handling of materials.

Total commitment to the company’s hearing protection program and implementation – Not to perform high noise operations for more than 4 hours per shift e.g. Grinding, air gun torquing, rope cutting, cleaning with air gun, use of blower, hard stamping.

Know the shop floor high noise areas, and ensure he spends less than 4 hours per shift within these areas. Wear double hearing protection when working in or around high noise areas / operations.

Assist in training new welders at any time, if or when required, passing on his knowledge, with a view to eventual succession.

Be able to read a route sheet and understand the information given, including specification and standards.

Sign off route sheets when operations are completed is mandatory as required in compliance.

Perform Welding in line with engineering drawings, welding procedure specifications, and manufacturing orders / shop routers accordingly to customer and internal requirements.

Able to read and understand the welding procedures, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and shop routers.

Set up, coordinate, check, clean, maintain welding equipment and tools, other related equipment in the workshop.

Accept and carry out any additional work-related instructions / activities, to the best of his ability, as determined by the department supervisor / manager.

Must be able to work independently, and as part of a team.

Ensure compliance with OIL STATES INDUSTRIES HSE Policies and HSE Management System.

Education and Certification

Minimum High School or Vocational School certificate .

Welding certification from an accredited program or technical school and Welding Society or Government.

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum 5 years of welding experience in piping or pipeline (Carbon Steel and Low Alloy Steel Scope of Work)

Basic knowledge of fitting would be advantageous.

Proven ability in manual welding processes : GTAW (tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding); SMAW (manual metal arc welding) in 6G Positions.

Material Expertise : Experience working on Stainless Steel and Inconel is advantageous.

Familiarity with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes is a benefit.

Ability to read and comprehend Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in English (preferable)

Skilled across multiple welding processes is desirable.

Pro-active and able to perform shift rotation and Open to overseas assignments or relocation within the country

Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset are important.

Ability to read and speak basic English is considered an advantage.
