Overview

VisionFund is World Vision’s microfinance provider serving vulnerable clients through loans, savings, and insurance. The Faith & Development (F&D) Impact & Reporting Manager supports VisionFund microfinance institutions, Global Centre Teams, and Senior Managers to understand the impact of VF’s Empowered Worldview (EWV) work on the lives of clients and their households. (Empowered Worldview is a World Vision faith-based enabling Core Project Model that helps VisionFund staff and clients address the spiritual root causes of poverty.) As a MEL programme manager, coach, and trainer, this role helps to strengthen the body of evidence of impact and to interpret the data and evidence for a deeper understanding of EWV impact throughout the VisionFund network. This role is the primary producer of VisionFund’s internal and external reports and communications about EWV impact with clear data visualisation and report narrative, highlighting key areas of learning to facilitate programme improvement and contextualising the evidence to make VisionFund’s work relevant to various audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Faith & Development GC and MFI staff have access to coaching to improve their EWV data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Operational solutions are put in place to overcome problems with EWV data collection and storage within the MFI.
  • Faith & Development GC and MFIs have access to best practices from the VFI network related to EWV completion and impact data collection for clients and staff.
  • VFI GC has EWV completion and impact-related “content” and well-developed PowerBI tools that feed the WV Impact Portal and VFI website.
  • EWV research and impact measurement tools are strengthened, using guidance from the VF Impact team and WV Faith & Development MEL and Research Leads.
  • Internal Audiences (Global Centre, Regional Teams, MFI Leaders) receive monthly EWV completion and impact performance reports.
  • MEL process results in higher quality programme design, better impact, more competitive proposals resulting in growth in grants portfolio.
  • Donor individuals and institutions receive quarterly and semi-annual reports tailored to their interests and areas of funding.
  • Projects to create, improve, and communicate evidence of VisionFund’s impact are well managed and achieve the desired aims.
  • VisionFund is able to demonstrate to all stakeholders its progress against strategic impact goals, thus strengthening the reputation of VisionFund within the Partnership and with external supporters.
  • WV’s technical work is published in external publications / journals and shared in external conferences.
  • Donors are informed and engaged.
  • Network of academic institutions is increased as well as credibility of research published.
  • Relationships with SOs and Regional Office is strengthened through shared / common learning or research agenda.
  • VF / WV global reputation is increased.

Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 5-7 years of experience of managing and interpreting data
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with development programme impact and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL)
  • Demonstrable expertise in data visualization
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Excellent report writing skills in English
  • Ability to navigate through obstacles when project partners do not deliver
  • Experience of delivering training to groups and one-on-one coaching
  • Masters Degree in a relevant subject.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining dashboards in PowerBI
  • Experience with Kobo and LMMS / ODK
  • Knowledge and experience with WV / VF operations and Faith & Development enabling Core Project Models OR exposure to analytics of spiritual / pastoral engagement programs
  • Spanish and / or French language proficiency
  • Travel and Work Environment

    The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
