Position Overview
The Accounting Trainee is responsible for supporting the finance team in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance procedures. This role provides hands-on experience in hotel financial management, assisting with bookkeeping, expense tracking, invoice processing, and reconciliations. The trainee will work closely with various departments, including direct collaboration with the Finance team and leadership.
The Role
- Financial Transactions : Assist in processing invoices, verifying receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Bookkeeping & Data Entry : Support the team in recording transactions and updating accounting databases.
- Reconciliations : Help with bank, vendor, and guest account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Expense Monitoring : Track operational expenses and support cost-control initiatives.
- Reporting & Documentation : Assist in preparing financial reports, summaries, and documentation for audits.
- Compliance & Policies : Ensure all accounting procedures adhere to financial regulations and company policies.
- Cross-Department Support : Work closely with purchasing, receiving, and other departments to ensure smooth financial processes.
- Administrative Assistance : Support day-to-day administrative tasks, such as organizing financial documents and updating records.
- Confidentiality & Integrity : Handle financial data with professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Flexibility & Adaptability : Be open to learning different aspects of hotel accounting and assisting in various finance-related tasks.
Talent Profile :
An active student that enrolled in a College or University preferably in Hotel / Hospitality Management, Finance or Economy programExcellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team player and good at cultivating strong guest relationsVery good command in spoken and written English, additional languages will be an advantageGreat attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to multitask and prioritizePossess a great communication skillGood conflict resolution skills with decision making and judgmental skillsFlexible regarding work schedulesStrong email etiquetteProficiency in Microsoft Office Software : Word, Excel, and Power PointKindly be informed that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
