Your Role
Customer and channel facing presales engineering representative focused on Indonesia market. Main job responsibilities includespending time with customers to understand requirements, creating network designs and quotes, presentingengineering design proposals which highlight Ciena’s differentiations. This role also requiresto work closely with local channel partners and to enable channel partner pre-sales teams to drive profitable business. Communications skills, both written and oral, to internal organization and external customers as well as attention to details are important elements to be successful in this role.
Your Responsibilities
Work closely withCiena’ssales managers and channel partner managerto understandcustomer’s technical and commercial requirements
Createnetwork designs using Ciena’s network design and modeling tools for customer applications and requirements base on Ciena’s networking products. Experience in Raman amplifiers and ROPA design will be an advantage.
CreateBill of Materials, respond to RFPs and customer technical inquiries. Experience in Salesforce or similar system will be an advantage.
Develop and customize presentationsto highlight products and solutions differentiations
Experience in hands-on lab preparations for customer demos or equipment certifications
Provide presales support and training to channel partners for channel partners
Business travel is required with occasional travels in the other Asia regions
Positive attitude to drive sales opportunities and willingness to become customer’s trusted technical advisor, and desire to learn new technologies via internal training
Industry knowledge of other optical / packet vendors will be an advantage
Your Experience
4+ years experiences in fiber optics transmission systems (especially SDH, DWDM, submarine), design or operations
Technical knowledge in data / packet networking including understanding of IP, Ethernet, MEF standards and other data networking protocols
Experience in using test equipment (traffic generators, OSA, OTDR, power meters, etc.) to conduct proof-of-concept or deployment
Experience in using optical link or network planning tool to create DWDM designs, and creating design proposals
Strong PC skills including general knowledge of applications programs such as MS Office, Excel and Powerpoint
3+ years experiences in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, customer training and / or customer facingactivities
Ability to develop customer relationships and work well with customers with good references
Ability to work well in a team, e.g. different departments and business units, and possess good attitude in sharing knowledge among peer groups
Strong English skills essential
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computing Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent
4-8 years of combined experience in telecommunications industry
Prior pre-sales engineering experience in Network Vendor or Systems Integrator will be an asset
