The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer , you’ll design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for complex, large-scale datasets. You’ll have the freedom to explore new tools and architectures, work directly with talented global teams, and mentor junior engineers — making a tangible impact both technically and strategically.

What You’ll Be Doing

Build and optimize robust ETL pipelines for geospatial and large dataset processing (Airflow, AWS, GCP, SQL).
Architect secure, cost-effective data infrastructure and data models for multiple data sources.
Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business needs.
Contribute to data catalogues, glossaries, and documentation that ensure consistency across projects.

What We’re Looking For

4–5+ years of data engineering experience with strong ETL / data pipeline expertise.

Skilled in Python, SQL, and frameworks like Pandas, PySpark, DBT.

Proficient with AWS or GCP for storage, transformation, and metadata management.

Strong understanding of data governance, reproducibility, and quality assurance.

Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams.

Passionate about sustainability, agriculture, or making a positive global impact.

Experience with forestry / land-use datasets or compliance frameworks (e.g., EUDR).

Start-up or scale-up environment experience.
