Data Engineer Officer

Overview

PT Global Papua Abadi is an integrated sugar industry business entity included in the National Strategic Project for the Merauke food and energy development area, operating in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, with an area of approximately 30,000 hectares, supporting Government sugar self-sufficiency and sugar & bioethanol self-sufficiency within the framework of Food and Energy Security.

As Data Engineer Officer, you will report directly to Tech Analyst Assistant Manager. The Data Engineering officer is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to provide insight that supports business processes. Act as a data partner to business teams, understanding their objectives and translating them into analytical requirements. Write and optimize SQL queries to analyze data from our data warehouse and other sources. Design and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Metabase) to track key business metrics. Perform ad hoc analyses and deliver actionable insights to support decision making across departments. Ensure consistency in metric definitions and reporting standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
• Expertise in Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
• Understanding of data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.) and BI environments.
• Experience with GIS tools and remote sensing data (ArcGIS, OGIS, or similar) is an advantage.
