About This Role : The Business Development Sr. Manager – Resilience & Sustainability plays a dual role advancing ChildFund’s sustainability and resilience agenda in Asia : as both a driver of business development and a contributor to technical thought leadership. The position leads and supports resource mobilization efforts across Country Offices (COs), working closely with global, regional, and country teams to identify funding opportunities, cultivate donor relationships, and strengthen the organization’s visibility and competitiveness in the development landscape. It integrates sponsorship programming and diversifies funding streams through strategic partnerships.
This is a full‑time, regional global position with a fixed term of one year, with the possibility of extension. Native or fluent proficiency with English is required. Candidates must have current work authorization in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, or the Philippines, and proximity to a ChildFund country office. Pay is in local currency.
Required Experience and Education :
- At least 8‑10 years of experience in business development, resource mobilization, or fundraising in the development or humanitarian sector.
- Proven track record of securing funding from a variety of donors, including institutional, philanthropic, and private sector sources such as Global Environment Fund, Global Green Growth Institute, or Green Climate Fund; with demonstrated prior experience preparing large multi‑million‑dollar proposals.
- Experience in consortium building and managing complex proposal processes.
- Experience working in or supporting multiple countries in the Asia region.
- Track record of creating competitor analysis, developing win themes and technical design / approach, identifying and negotiating with proposal partners, preparing management plans and packaging proposals.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and / or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience / proven successful record of fostering new and effective partnerships with funding partners / donors.Primary Responsibilities :
Strategic Business Development Planning : Drive the development and implementation of a regional business development strategy that integrates resilience and sustainability as a regional thematic focus; generate actionable intelligence by monitoring donor trends and funding landscapes; collaborate with technical and programming teams at the International and Country Offices to align funding proposals with ChildFund’s Results Framework, key sectoral and global practices, and evidence of global impact.Positioning and Visibility : Lead strategic pre‑positioning across COs, identify emerging grant opportunities, cultivate early relationships with partners and stakeholders, and align internal capabilities; tailor sustainability and resilience messaging; capture success stories, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen future proposals and donor engagement.Donor Engagement and Relationship Management : Strengthen funding pipeline and strategic positioning by cultivating relationships with diverse donors; represent ChildFund in donor meetings, regional forums, and networking events; build and manage strategic donor relationships; identify and cultivate partnerships with NGOs, youth‑led organisations, research institutions, private sector actors, technical start‑ups, and regional networks; negotiate MOUs and consortium arrangements.Proposal Development and Coordination : Manage end‑to‑end process for large, high‑value regional and multi‑country proposals; coordinate multi‑stakeholder processes; enhance competitiveness through competitor analysis, win themes, partner negotiation, staffing strategies, cost / pricing models, and management plans; improve proposal quality by contributing to writing and editing of key sections.Other : Remain alert to child safeguarding risks, promote strong safeguarding practices; travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.Required Competencies :
