FP&A ANALYST

Child Safeguarding :

Level 2 : either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and / or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

Role Purpose :

As a member of the Finance Unit at Save the Children Indonesia, the Finance Analyst plays a critical role in supporting financial analysis, reporting, and budget development. Working closely with the Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Manager and Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Analyst contributes to the preparation and maintenance of the organization’s master budget and forecast.

The role requires a strong understanding of financial data to analyze and provide timely reports on department expenses and spending trends, ensuring efficient use of funds and preventing overspending. The Finance Analyst will also contribute to the preparation of comprehensive financial reports for senior management, the board, and the Save the Children Association, providing critical insights to inform strategic decisions. Additionally, the Finance Analyst is responsible for conducting ad-hoc financial analyses to support improved management of business units and other operational priorities.

This role will be reporting to Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager.

What You will do :

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting

Analyse financial data and provide accurate, timely reports on departmental and project spending trends.

  • Identify risks & opportunities vs budget and recommend timely actionable solutions.
  • Support the Senior FP&A manager for the preparation of comprehensive financial reports for the senior management, the board, and the Save the Children Association to support strategic decision-making and ensure reports are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with organizational and global goals
  • Support CFO / Senior FP&A for ad-Hoc Financial Analysis
  • Master Budget and Forecast Development
  • Support the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in the development and maintenance of the organization’s master budget.

  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure alignment of budgets with organizational priorities and donor requirements.
  • Act as a contact point for Department Budget, responsible for the department budget and rolling estimates which includes tracking of actuals vs budget
  • Support the Senior FP&A Manager for Individual Giving, with primary responsibility for reconciling income against funding, investment, and match funds, in close coordination with the Grant Manager and Finance Coordinator
  • Support Senior FP&A manager for Financial Management System transformation
  • Compliance and Capacity Building
  • Ensure adherence to donor compliance and organizational financial policies.

  • Provide training or technical assistance to staff on financial management and budget monitoring as required.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure integrated financial planning and execution.

  • Communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders to facilitate informed decision‑making.
  • What We need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Recommended minimum of five years of experience in grants, financial, or program management / oversight in a contractor, corporate, or NGO environment.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and excellent budget development capabilities.
  • Substantial experience with financial and budgetary control systems.
  • Proven ability to work within complex, matrixed organizational structures.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to field offices as required.
  • Commitment to Save the Children’s values, including adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Experience And Skills

    Essential :

  • Advanced proficiency in financial and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • Desirable :

  • Experience with digital and cloud financial systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory and compliance requirements related to financial management.
  • Location : Jakarta
