Purpose of the role
As we grow out our team in Asia, we are looking for a driven and independent professional to help grow our portfolio. The Senior Business Development Manager owns and grows client relationships related to Indonesia. They are responsible for finding new clients, attending networking events and supporting with the marketing of the Indonesia to Asia or Asia to Indonesia proposition. In securing leads, they will also guide and work with the team in Indonesia or other parts of Asia to build out pitch proposals, pitch and convert leads to business.
They have a foundation in marketing / PR and thus are able to forge strong relationships with clients; understanding their expectations and ensuring the client is kept fully up to date with critical activity on the account. Strong at account execution, the Senior Business Development Manager takes the lead in maintaining key media relationships on behalf of all clients, leads outreach for campaigns and oversees the integration of social media activity into campaigns.
Key responsibilities and tasks
New Business
- Ability to drive new leads and lean into network to open discussions and opportunities for the business. This could mean leads in Indonesia as cascades to other TEAM LEWIS office in Asia Pacific or leads in the region (including Indonesia) for execution work to be done in Indonesia
- This could be achieved from use of Sales Navigator on LinkedIn, participating at relevant events, networking at functions (including recommendation of association or chambers to be members of).
- Experience supporting the new business process, working in collaboration with the multi-market team leaders to play a crucial role in selling TEAM LEWIS credentials throughout the tender process
- Writes and compiles compelling credentials, responding to RFI and RFP documents (within deadline) with the aim of securing pitch opportunities
Client Management
Oversees and maintains a consultative relationship with the client, acting as a contact and partner for all marketing and communications servicesWorks closely with the client to regularly review account performance, identifying and communicating opportunities for additional PR, marketing and digital tools and servicesWorks with the management team to ensure account profitability and effective budgetingMedia Relations
Oversees all media relations activity on behalf of the client, maintaining key media contacts for campaigns and projectsBuilds, maintains and develops robust relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers and analysts across national, trade and vertical media channelsUtilises network to create and maximise client coverage, advising on potential opportunitiesContent
Oversees and provides content creation for campaigns and projects including press releases, articles, blog entries, and other written materialDrafts - and oversees the drafting of - a broad range of written materials including biographies, briefing documents, media alerts, soundbites, Q&As, backgrounders and boilerplates, ensuring a consistent level of high-quality contentWorks with content experts to drive the improvement of own and others knowledge of impactful techniques and writing stylesDigital / Social Media

Relevant experience of working in a B2B, corporate, consumer or digital communications agency environment at an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager levelHighly commercial and results driven, with a proven track record of commercially impacting a business via lead generation and strategic client consultancyStrong project management skills with an ability to plan and prioritiseConsidered, creative, assertive and influential; with the skills and aptitude to successfully secure and nurture new clientsThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the responsibilities for this role.
