What the role is]
We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the integrity of our general ledger, ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles. This role is crucial in ensuring the optimisation of resources, maintaining accurate financial records and timely reporting and transformation of financial processes.
Reporting to the Branch Head of Finance Department, the incumbent will support financial reporting and lead process improvements to ensure :
Key Responsibilities :
1. General Ledger and Financial Reporting
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Prepare financial consolidation and reporting
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain fixed assets to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with auditors on statutory and regulatory annual audits
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard financial data
2. Compliance and Reporting
Prepare the annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standardsPrepare and review reports and submissions to senior management and the Board, including those related to fee adjustments and dividendsPrepare and submit Goods and Services Tax returns timely and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulationsKey liaison for all audit matters, including appointment of external auditors3. Process Improvement and Strategic Support
Review and update finance policies to enhance existing internal controlsImprove and / or streamline finance reporting processesIdentify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and to enhance data accuracySupport any other ad-hoc projects or duties that may be assigned4. Others
Business partnering with departments to provide guidance in financial matters, policies and proceduresReview payroll processed by outsourced service provider and the key liaison for payroll mattersQualifications and Skills :
Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalentPreferably 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial roleFamiliar with Workday will be an advantageExperience in handling payroll administrationStrong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointGood analytical, writing and communication skillsMeticulous and resourceful with positive work attitudeProactive and able to work independently as well as in a teamStrong collaboration skills as the role requires involvement in cross department workstreamsWhat you will be working on]
