Overview

We are seeking a talented, endlessly curious individual to join our team. You’ll be working closely with one of our portfolio companies in the fintech sector as part of the Engineering department. This company is a leading B2B fintech platform in its field, processing over US$2B across multiple currencies annually. We’re looking for individuals who are driven to create meaningful value, take full ownership of what they build, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, ship and maintain both frontend and backend platform capabilities.
  • Work with databases, such as SQL or NoSQL, to manage data effectively.
  • Demonstrate a firm grasp of the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Understand the business objectives behind the code and implementations.
  • Understand system architecture fundamentals through self-driven learning.
  • Build RESTful / GraphQL APIs and integrate third-party services as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define, design and ship new initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations for the technology stack.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Deploy applications and services on AWS Cloud infrastructure.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with security and privacy regulations.
  • Lead and provide technical mentoring to a team of engineers and guide them on development best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science).
  • 5+ years of professional experience with web development, proficiency with in-depth understanding of both frontend and backend capabilities.
  • Proven track record of developing mid / large scale applications with timely delivery.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Working experience with test automation and methodologies.
  • Passion for advancing the state of the art of technology.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment.
  • Secure software development practices, familiarity with OWASP vulnerabilities.
  • Strong leadership experience, including team management, mentorship, and technical guidance.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
