As a Sous Chef at Jimbaran Puri, A Belmond Hotel you will play a key role in crafting unforgettable dining experiences rooted in tradition and inspired by innovation. Working closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team, youll bring exceptional dishes to life while leading and mentoring junior team members in a high-paced, fine dining environment. Primary Responsibilities Include :

  • Assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service
  • Preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and menu standards, while maintaining excellent presentation and crafting experiences that Make the Moment memorable.
  • Creating accurate daily market lists based on operational needs and ensuring all supplies delivered meet or exceed standards
  • Responsible for managing inventory and supply orders while maintaining a clean, organized, and fully sanitized kitchen environment through optimal food storage, regular cleanliness checks, and strict 100% compliance with HACCP / Food Safety & Hygiene standards.
  • Actively engages with guests through storytelling and presence during service, collaborates closely with other departments for seamless operations, and remains flexible to accommodate guest preferences and adapt swiftly to operational changes.
  • Leads the kitchen team by supervising and training staff, delegating tasks effectively, managing detailed team schedules, and consistently reporting operational updates to the Executive Chef to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements

What You Bring :

  • Strong cooking skills with in-depth knowledge of Western, Asian, and Indonesian cuisine
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks efficiently, and foster a positive work environment
  • Excellent communication skills, along with strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, with the ability to resolve problems efficiently, deliver clear and immediate feedback, and remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Brings excellent time management and prioritization skills to support smooth service, with a great attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication reflected in consistent punctuality, proactive task completion, and the trust earned from the Executive Chef and Co-Worker.
  • Experience in fine dining kitchens is a strong advantage
