Responsibilities and requirements for a Tax Leader role focused on Indonesian tax law, tax disputes, and compliance for a multinational or large-scale organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term tax strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic insights to management on tax implications of business transactions, investments, and expansions.
- Conduct tax risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation plans.
- Lead the resolution of tax disputes, including audits, objections, appeals, and litigation processes.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, legal counsels, and tax authorities to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Prepare strong documentation to support tax audits and disputes.
- Ensure full compliance with Indonesian tax laws and regulations, covering Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and other relevant obligations.
- Supervise accurate and timely submission of monthly and annual tax filings.
- Establish and enforce internal tax policies to strengthen compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a tax team in a complex organizational structure.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CFO / Finance Director and other senior stakeholders.
- Provide clear communication and alignment across departments on tax-related matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance (Master’s degree preferred).Certified in Brevet A, B, and C.Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in taxation with proven expertise in tax disputes and tax planning.Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.Background
Experience with multinational corporations, publicly listed companies, or large-scale organizations (thousands of employees).Industries such as logistics, transportation, e-commerce, or companies with complex transactions (preferred).Strong track record in handling large-scale tax audits and resolving significant disputes.Deep knowledge of Indonesian Tax Laws, PSAK, IFRS, and updated regulations.Proven leadership with experience managing sizable teams.Strong business acumen, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.Compensation
