At XLabs, we’re a small crew of builders, dreamers, and tinkerers exploring the edge of AI and IoT. We turn experimental ideas into real products — from smart fitness systems and connected farms to AI-powered industrial platforms.
We’re looking for an R&D Engineer — AI / ML who can research and build : prototype new model ideas, validate them quickly, and turn promising experiments into production-ready components. You’ll work closely with product, embedded, and full-stack engineers to seed the next XLabs product and to improve what we already ship.
If you love moving fast, experimenting, and shipping things that matter, you’ll fit right in. Every few months you’ll jump into a new challenge — no corporate layers, just ideas and impact.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end ML projects : research, prototype, iterate, and productionize models and pipelines.
- Run experiments : design evaluation protocols, baseline comparisons, ablation studies, and reproducible notebooks.
- Build robust pipelines for data collection, preprocessing, training, and inference (local, cloud, and edge).
- Bridge research and product : convert prototypes into maintainable, deployable components (APIs, containers, edge SDKs).
- Scout new architectures, libraries, and trends — propose and incubate ideas for future XLabs products.
- Collaborate tightly with embedded, backend, and frontend engineers to integrate models with real sensors and apps.
- Document results, write clear reports, and communicate tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
0-3 years experience, fresh graduates are welcome to apply.Strong practical ML skills : you’ve built models in Python using PyTorch or TensorFlow.Hands‑on with data pipelines and ML tooling : experience with training scripts, dataset versioning, Docker, and CI / CD for ML.Experience deploying models to production (cloud services, REST / gRPC endpoints, or on‑device inference).Good experimental mindset : you design fair comparisons, track metrics, and iterate quickly.Curious researcher spirit : you read papers, prototype novel ideas, and can separate signal from hype.Comfortable working across stack boundaries and collaborating with engineers from other domains.Product‑minded : you care about performance, reliability, latency, and user impact — not just paper benchmarks.Excellent communication : you can explain technical tradeoffs to product and business teammates.Nice to have
Background in computer vision, time‑series, or sensor fusion (we work with camera + IoT sensor stacks).Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, DVC, TFX, BentoML, or similar).Experience with edge deployment (TFLite, ONNX, quantization, or small model design).Familiarity with AWS / GCP / Azure and container orchestration.Academic publications or open‑source contributions. What you’ll love
Creative freedom — no red tape, just building.Flexible work — flexible time and place, your freedom, with regular check in.Real tech — your work runs on real devices and powers real products.Growth — shape products that push what’s possible.A small, close‑knit team where your voice matters. We’re not just hiring — we’re building a crew of curious minds.
Send your resume, GitHub, portfolio, research notes, or something you’ve built to — show us one project or experiment you’re proud of and a 2–3 line note about what excites you to work at XLabs.
