Purpose of the role

As we grow our team in Asia, we are looking for a driven and independent professional to help grow our portfolio. The Senior Business Development Manager owns and grows client relationships related to Indonesia. They are responsible for finding new clients, attending networking events and supporting the marketing of Indonesia to Asia or Asia to Indonesia propositions. In securing leads, they will guide and work with the team in Indonesia or other parts of Asia to build out pitch proposals, pitch and convert leads to business. They should forge strong client relationships, understand expectations, and keep clients up to date with critical activity on the account. They lead account execution, maintain key media relationships on behalf of all clients, lead outreach for campaigns and oversee the integration of social media activity into campaigns.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • New Business

Drive new leads and leverage networks to open discussions and opportunities for the business. This may include leads in Indonesia cascading to other TEAM LEWIS offices in Asia Pacific or region-wide leads for execution work in Indonesia.

  • Utilise tools such as Sales Navigator on LinkedIn, participate in relevant events, and network at functions (including recommending associations or chambers to join).
  • Support the new business process, collaborating with multi-market team leaders to sell TEAM LEWIS credentials throughout tender processes.
  • Write and compile compelling credentials, respond to RFI and RFP documents within deadlines to secure pitch opportunities.
  • Client Management
  • Oversee and maintain a consultative relationship with the client, acting as a contact for all marketing and communications services.

  • Regularly review account performance with the client, identifying opportunities for additional PR, marketing and digital tools and services.
  • Ensure account profitability and effective budgeting in collaboration with management.
  • Media Relations
  • Oversee all media relations activity for the client, maintaining key media contacts for campaigns and projects.

  • Build and sustain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers and analysts across national, trade and vertical media.
  • Utilise the network to create and maximise client coverage, advising on opportunities.
  • Content
  • Oversee content creation for campaigns and projects including press releases, articles, blog entries and other written material.

  • Draft a broad range of materials including biographies, briefing documents, media alerts, soundbites, Q&As, backgrounders and boilerplates, ensuring high-quality content.
  • Collaborate with content experts to improve knowledge of impactful writing techniques.
  • Digital / Social Media
  • Use social media platforms to expand network, understand cultural trends, and positively impact client results.

  • Proactively explore new tools and processes to evolve and optimise client campaigns.
  • Provide social media insight and manage related digital activity.
  • About You

  • Relevant experience in a B2B, corporate, consumer or digital communications agency at Account Manager or Senior Account Manager level.
  • Highly commercial and results-driven with a track record of lead generation and strategic client consultancy.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise.
  • Being thoughtful, creative, assertive and influential; with the skills to secure and nurture new clients.
