We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer with experience in the mining and oil and gas sector to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in detailed engineering design , be proficient in Bentley MicroStation software, and possess excellent English communication skills. This role requires regular travel to project sites to support construction activities and ensure design implementation aligns with project design and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed mechanical and structural design drawings using Bentley MicroStation, tailored for mining and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions.
  • Interpret Client / project technical specifications and drawings, engineering sketches, and project documentation to produce accurate and practical designs.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project / client specifications.
  • Maintain organized documentation and version control of all design outputs.

Key Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Bentley software, especially MicroStation.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in detailed engineering projects, preferably within the mining and oil and gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and structural systems used in mining and infrastructure projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites and work in field conditions to support construction activities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale mining and infrastructure projects (surface or underground).
  • Familiarity with other CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mining-specific standards and practices (e.g., AS, ISO, or client-specific standards).
