Assistant Chief Engineering

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Chief Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Director of Engineering in overseeing all aspects of our facility's maintenance, safety, and operational excellence. You will lead a skilled engineering team, manage critical building systems, and ensure that our operations meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. • Oversee daily engineering operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and optimal performance of all building systems and guest facilities
• Lead and mentor the Engineering and Maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and adherence to safety protocols
• Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Champion and manage the organization's fire safety program, ensuring full compliance with local Turkish regulations and international safety standards
• Organize and conduct technical and safety training sessions for engineering staff, promoting safe work practices and regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement energy conservation and resource efficiency initiatives to support organizational sustainability goals
• Troubleshoot and oversee maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• Analyze maintenance data and prepare detailed reports to identify trends, optimize operations, and support strategic decision-making
• Ensure transparent communication with senior management regarding operational challenges, maintenance schedules, and capital improvement needs
• Support the DOE in budget planning and cost management for engineering operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in hotel Engineering is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and general hotel maintenance.
• Knowledge of fire and life safety systems and relevant safety regulations.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems and engineering documentation.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance/engineering systems.
