Overview
The prime focus of this role will be to build and grow Marketshare, develop relationships and a presence in the Machining / General industry, Aerospace, Medtech, Automotive and specialist components space, then implementing the business strategy within the assigned industry.
Key Performance Areas
Reporting to the Regional General Manager - SEA, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for, and ‘own’ the complete sales process for the given markets (Such as Carbide Cutter manufacture, Aerospace, Medical, General industry, fluid handling, semiconductor, oil & gas), promoting and selling the range of Hard and Super-hard materials (Cemented Carbide, diamond and CBN).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop individual sales plans; achieve sales targets by executing the plans.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the specified markets.
- Updating & ownership of own CRM data, managing the sales funnel, submitting reports on sales activities and area development to achieve sales budget.
- Ability to ‘sell without a catalogue’!
- Establish and maintain relationships within the specified markets by a range of activities including the attendance of trade shows, visiting customers on regular basis, regular monitoring of industry trends
- Being a key component of AR collections by monitoring overdues and direct customer contact.
- Offering customized and value-added solutions based on project requirements and making technical presentations to all stakeholders.
- Coordinating with internal team to execute the orders within the committed timeline and conducting commercial discussion and negotiation on the proposals made.
- Keep an up-to-date product knowledge of the Hyperion Products.
- Adhere to all Hyperion Policies & Procedures.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have at minimum a trade background, bringing technical aptitude with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at various levels and a willingness to learn and work in a growing team. Additionally, working knowledge of material science in the Cemented Carbide or Synthetic Diamond is desirable
Education and / or Work Experience
4+ years technical sales experience is essential.3+ years in the metal cutting and machining industry at a sales or engineering level is highly desirableKnowledge or work experience in process manufacturing or toolmaking industries would be advantageous - i.e. Toolmaking, Process Engineering, Tungsten Carbide / CBN / Diamond tool manufacture, but is not essential.Engineering background, Mechanical or Material Technology background would be highly regarded.A commitment to improving customer productivity through “Value Selling”.Current Driver’s License required.Must have a Legal Right to Work in the country of operations.Travel
