SH Instrumentation

Job Purpose :

To plan monitor and coordinate instrumentation maintenance and project activities across Viscose Spinning Auxiliary and Ancillary sections of the VSF plant ensuring continuous production cost control and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Instrumentation Maintenance Uptime & Quality

Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for instrumentation systems.

Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure process reliability.

Review customer complaints and ensure implementation of corrective measures.

Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives.

2. Automation & Equipment Upgradation

Identify opportunities for automation and modernization of instruments to improve product quality and process efficiency.

Coordinate with vendors and engineering contractors to implement upgrades and ensure long-term reliability.

3. Cost Control & Inventory Management

Monitor spares manpower and repair costs to stay within budget.

Optimize inventory through standardization and rationalization.

Control contractor manpower usage and track overtime to improve cost efficiency.

4. Project Coordination

Plan and lead instrumentation-related activities in projects across Viscose Spinning Auxiliary and Ancillary sections.

Ensure timely construction commissioning and integration into plant systems.

Facilitate vendor coordination document approvals and material management.

5. People & Safety Management

Cultivate a high-performance safe working culture across the team.

Identify training needs skill gaps and ensure development of team members.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile :

Must-Have :

B.E. / in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering.

812 years of experience in process plant instrumentation maintenance preferably in chemical / textile / fibre industry.

Strong hands-on knowledge of PLC DCS SCADA systems and field instruments.

Nice-to-Have :

Experience with automation upgrades and reliability improvement projects.

Exposure to SAP-PM or any CMMS for maintenance planning.

Working knowledge of ISO WCM or similar operational excellence frameworks.

Not-to-Have (Red Flags) :

No practical plant experience.

Poor leadership or coordination abilities.

Lack of exposure to automation or cost control strategies.
