Engineering Manager role at Traveloka. The Engineering Team builds scalable and high-performance systems powering millions of users worldwide, with a focus on mobile performance and user experience.

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers to deliver a high quality product to customers. You will work with cross-functional teams to verify problems, discuss pragmatic solutions, and collaborate to implement them. We foster an open environment where ideas are welcomed, and collaboration helps projects meet schedule and organizational objectives.

What You will be Doing

  • Lead yearly and quarterly planning to ensure smooth execution and successful delivery of the engineering roadmap.
  • Optimize performance through capacity planning, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
  • Drive teams forward by setting high standards for delivery, code quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and enhance cutting-edge services with focus on availability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain high development standards through active participation in code and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business growth and engineering excellence.
  • Attract, mentor, and retain top engineering talent, fostering career growth and a strong engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in team management.
  • Expertise in Java and building complex, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Strong experience in DevOps practices : CI / CD, microservices, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure operations and security.
  • Proven experience leading agile teams (6+ direct reports) and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Skilled in defining technical OKRs, KPIs, and roadmaps with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
