The Opportunity :

The company is a listed integrated marine and offshore services company, serving the shipping and offshore oil & gas industries. Its core businesses include ship chartering, shipbuilding, ship repair, and vessel management, with a fleet comprising tugs, barges, and offshore support vessels. The company operates primarily in the Asia-Pacific region, supporting infrastructure, energy, and maritime logistics projects.

Today, the company is looking for a new headcount of shipyard maintenance manager to be based at Batam, Indonesia.

The Job :

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all shipyard equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and external contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor the performance and condition of critical systems such as cranes, generators, dry docks, pumps, HVAC, and electrical installations.
  • Plan and oversee shutdowns, major repairs, and upgrades of shipyard facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports for audits and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and HSE teams to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement of tools and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance teams to enhance capabilities and performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Talent :

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in shipyard or heavy industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of shipyard systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in Indonesia and good communication in Indonesia is an added advantage.
