Director, Operations (Bulk Carrier)

The Director of Operations will be responsible for translating the organization’s mission into operational strategy, leading shipping operations, and ensuring the company meets its financial and performance targets. This role requires an experienced leader with a strong background in vessel operations, governance, and stakeholder management, capable of driving efficiency and safety while building high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate the organization’s mission into an effective operations strategy.
• Provide strategic leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operations.
• Manage all operational activities to achieve financial and performance targets.
• Oversee and control internal systems, governance, and procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with key strategic stakeholders on operational matters and vessel performance.
• Ensure regulations and information related to Indonesia-owned vessels are well-managed and up to date.
• Lead cost-saving initiatives and provide timely executive reports to senior management.
• Review and recommend improvements to operational procedures and working instructions.
• Prepare annual OPEX budgets and be accountable for operations P&L performance.
• Establish infrastructure and practices to safeguard health, safety, and environment (HSE).
• Maintain positive relationships within the organization and external communities.
• Develop operations staff through continuous learning and professional growth.
• Build collaborative, high-performance teams to support business strategy.
