Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in backend development (3+ years) with languages / frameworks such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or .NET. Strong understanding of databases (relational and NoSQL), API design (RESTful / GraphQL), microservices architecture, and system performance optimization. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure), containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes), monitoring tools and CI / CD practices. Excellent debugging, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Experience in financial technology / payments industry is a plus.
Senior Backend Developer (Financial Technology)
- Design, develop, maintain and optimise server-side logic, APIs and database structures to support product features and business workflows.
- Integrate the front-end user-facing elements developed by the FE team with backend services.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, security, and reliability of backend applications and data systems.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use; document backend services and maintain clean architecture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, DevOps, FE engineers and QA to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, manage hosting environments, perform system testing and deploy releases.
