A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Manager, Marine to join our mtu Indonesia team. This pivotal role will lead marine sales initiatives, driving revenue growth, fostering strong customer relationships, and developing strategic partnerships to support the company’s growth and profitability objectives.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities

Business Operations :

  • Manage the full sales cycle across all product lines within the marine segment, proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed assigned KPIs, ensuring all deliverables are met and aligned with customer requirements.

Leadership :

  • Lead and develop the System Integrator Partner Network to achieve departmental goals and company objectives.
  • Mentor and coach the sales team to enhance performance, drive skills development, and ensure continuous improvement aligned with the evolving product and solutions portfolio.
  • Customer Engagement :

  • Represent mtu Indonesia at industry events, trade shows, conferences, factory tours, and customer meetings to build and strengthen relationships, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Actively engage with customers and partners to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Strategy Development & Execution :

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales to develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company’s long-term growth objectives.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities, and competitor activities to inform and refine business development plans.
  • Partner Network Management :

  • Select, onboard, and manage key business partners, regularly evaluating their performance and capabilities.
  • Identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth, setting annual performance targets and ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Compliance & Governance :

  • Ensure all sales activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, Code of Conduct, ISO standards, Quality Management Systems, and HSE requirements.
  • Promote integrity and compliance in all business dealings, maintaining a high standard of ethics and professionalism.
  • Expense Management :

  • Plan and manage annual operating expenses in line with approved budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Reporting & Analysis :

  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses as required.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely information.
  • Collaboration :

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Legal, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment on sales strategies and processes.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B sales of industrial goods, including at least 2 years in a managerial sales role.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams, ideally within the industrial or marine sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English required to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including headquarters and global teams
