Job Description

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all incoming deliveries and ensuring that all goods received meet the hotel’s quality, quantity, and specification standards. This role plays a key part in the supply chain by ensuring accurate documentation, timely receipt of items, and proper coordination with the Purchasing and relevant operational departments.

The Receiving Supervisor manages the receiving team, implements best practices in goods inspection and handling, and ensures compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and audit requirements. They also maintain accurate records, conduct regular inventory spot checks, and support the optimization of storage and receiving procedures.

By maintaining strong coordination with suppliers, the Purchasing team, and other departments, the Receiving Supervisor ensures smooth operations, cost control, and high service standards across the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Education : A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or supply chain operations, preferably in the hospitality industry or within a luxury hotel environment. Experience in goods inspection, vendor coordination, and inventory control is highly valued.
  • Knowledge : Strong understanding of receiving procedures, inventory management, and quality control standards. Familiarity with hotel product categories, hygiene and safety regulations, and basic procurement processes is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in inventory and receiving systems. Experience using property management systems and procurement platforms is beneficial. Accuracy in handling data and documentation is essential.
  • Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and maintain accurate records. Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and standard operating procedures.
  • Teamwork and Communication : Ability to work collaboratively with Purchasing, Finance, Culinary, and operational departments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
