Head of Internal Audit (Healthcare)

Job Responsibilities :

• Establish and Execute Audit Plan : Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit plan from the ground up, encompassing all operational, financial, and compliance aspects of the hospital.
• Comprehensive System Evaluation : Critically assess the design and effectiveness of existing internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures as if starting with no prior system. Identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
• Team Leadership and Evaluation : Lead, manage, and evaluate the performance of the internal audit team. Identify skill gaps and implement training or restructuring as needed to optimize team effectiveness.
• Conduct Audits : Plan, execute, and report on internal audits in accordance with professional standards, including documenting findings, developing recommendations, and tracking remediation efforts.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant local healthcare regulations, laws, and internal policies.
• Reporting to Leadership : Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and the status of corrective actions to senior management and the audit committee.
• Continuous Improvement : Stay abreast of best practices in internal auditing and the healthcare industry to continuously improve the audit function.
• Fraud Detection : Develop and implement procedures for the detection and prevention of fraud and irregularities.
