One of our key areas of support is for Aster Chemicals & Energy (ACE) , a leading chemical and energy solutions provider in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. ACE combines the legacy of Singapore’s first oil refinery with cutting‑edge petrochemical operations, jointly owned by Chandra Asri Group and Glencore , one of the world’s largest natural resource companies.
PURPOSE
You will be reporting to the Aster controller manager based in the same location. On daily basis, you will be working closely with a group of team members with specialized finance skillsets that will cover AP, AR, Credit, Accounting, Governance, Risk & Assurance and Hydrocarbon management.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the Singapore finance team and other stakeholders to troubleshoot AP or AR issues; at times you will be required to process vendor invoices.
- Update, manage and improve, when possible, the Manual of Authority for Aster Group of Companies.
- Work closely with Controller’s team lead to ensure compliance with local financial regulations and controls across different finance processes for Aster group.
- Support and manage month‑end closing process related to hydrocarbon inventory for one or two production units.
- Support the implementation of ERP to minimize financial risk exposure across Aster companies, especially for new entities set up.
- Manage other ad‑hoc projects as assigned by Controller lead focal which scope will include all entities under Aster group.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
At least a bachelor’s degree in accountancy / finance. Additional qualifications such as CIMA, CPA, and / or international CPA would be an advantage.At least 4 years of full‑time work experience in relevant finance areas that includes accounts payable, revenue management, financial audit, local tax compliance, risk management, trade finance and credit activities.Proficient in English, especially business level of conversation.Possess a collaborative mindset and good level of interpersonal skillset specifically in communication and writing skill.Ability to demonstrate strategic thought processes to be able to design and implement change management initiatives that may include digitalization of financial performance management.Resilient in change management and strong stakeholder management skills.Exhibits strong integrity, teamwork and trust attributes.Proficiency in Microsoft office suites applications.
