Job descriptionThe role focusses on improving the technical ability and quality of deliverables provided by the environment team and will bring a high level of technical oversight to current projects in specifically in relation to terrestrial and marine ecology aspects including : Overseeing and contributing to ongoing terrestrial, aquatic and marine baseline data collection studies to ensure sampling and collection methods follow best practice. Reviewing marine and terrestrial data and compile in reports discussing findings and trends. Developing and leading additional field studies required to make up comprehensive baseline study for large scale project sites in sensitive ecological environments. Liaising with client and other project consultants to develop strategic approach to conducting and implement large scale IFC and ADB Safeguarding Standards for ESIAs The holder of this position is key in assisting in managing a variety of divergent activities within the discipline, contributing to its strategic direction and coordinating the establishment of discipline-specific policies. The incumbent will role model the SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and all aspects of this position will be carried out according to these guiding principles.
