Finance Manager

About the Role We are looking for a hands-on and commercially minded Finance Manager to oversee key finance and accounting activities within a growing telecommunications and network infrastructure company. The role will act as a bridge between the business and external/operational accounting teams, ensuring that financial records, accounting treatments, tax matters, controls, and reporting are properly managed. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals, sound financial concepts, and the ability to translate these into practical financial analysis, reporting, and business support. This is a hands-on role suited to a mid-level finance professional who is ready to take broader ownership as the business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities 1. Finance Strategy & Business Partnership Partner with management and business development teams on financial planning and decision-making. Develop financial models, business projections, and scenario analysis to support new business opportunities and investment decisions. Prepare and maintain annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Develop 3 – 5 year financial projections and provide financial insights to support business planning. Analyze the P&L, cash flow, and financial implications of business initiatives and proposed deals. Provide practical financial recommendations based on sound accounting and financial principles. 2. Accounting, Tax & Financial Processes Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial accounts and accounting records. Review accounting treatments and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting principles. Work closely with internal or external accounting teams to ensure accounting activities are properly executed. Review and challenge accounting treatments where necessary and provide appropriate accounting guidance. Ensure proper supporting documentation and financial records are maintained. Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with relevant internal/external tax parties, including cross-border matters where applicable. Review balance sheet accounts and ensure appropriate reconciliation and substantiation. Support the management of financial operations across subsidiaries and related entities. Provide guidance on accounting matters such as CapEx vs. OpEx, capitalization, depreciation, amortization, useful life, and other relevant accounting treatments . 3. Financial Reporting, Controls & Compliance Prepare and review regular financial and management reports. Establish and monitor appropriate financial controls and processes. Identify financial and accounting risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, regulatory, and internal requirements. Support internal and external audits and provide the necessary financial information and documentation. Ensure key financial matters, decisions, and action points are properly documented and followed through. 4. Business & Stakeholder Support Act as a finance business partner to management and other key stakeholders. Provide financial and accounting guidance to relevant teams when required. Communicate financial matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Work collaboratively with external accounting, tax, and other professional service providers. Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as the business evolves. 5. People & Process Development Provide cross-functional guidance and finance training to relevant team members as needed. Continually assess future finance capacity and resourcing needs as the company grows. Work with management to embed a strong culture of governance and risk management across the organization. Requirements 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting, ideally with experience in a mid-level or supervisory capacity. Strong foundation in accounting principles and financial concepts , with hands-on experience. Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting treatments, and financial reporting. Able to independently identify and address incorrect accounting treatments and provide practical accounting guidance. Experience with financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections . Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, CapEx, OpEx, depreciation, and amortization . Exposure to tax compliance and/or cross-border finance matters is highly preferred. Experience working with external accounting, tax, or professional service providers is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail. Good English communication skills, particularly in communicating finance and accounting matters. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving startup environment , with the flexibility to take on changing responsibilities as the business grows. Relevant professional certification such as Ak., CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is an advantage but not mandatory.
