Sr Learning & Development Officer (Retail)

About the Role

As a Sr Learning & Development Officer, you are responsible to lead and manage the end-to-end training process within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting training needs analyses, designing and developing learning programs, facilitating training sessions, and evaluating training effectiveness. This role is critical in ensuring our employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively and grow within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Identify learning needs through job analysis, performance reviews, employee feedback, and collaboration with department heads.
• Develop comprehensive training plans, materials, manuals, and e-learning modules tailored to various audiences and learning objectives.
• Schedule and organize training sessions (in-person and online), secure venues and trainers, manage invitations and attendance, and oversee technical requirements.
• Deliver engaging in-house training programs and workshops, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and company goals.
• Implement assessment tools to evaluate training effectiveness, measure learning outcomes, and make continuous improvements.
• Maintain accurate training records, generate reports, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Liaise with external training providers to ensure high-quality delivery when outsourced programs are needed.
• Ensure all training initiatives comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training Coordination, or a related HR function.
• Experience managing the full training lifecycle is essential.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Analytical mindset with experience in training evaluation and reporting.
