Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead Social Expert on projects
- Serve as a social expert on projects including Social Safeguards Commitment Plan (SSCP), Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Social Safeguards Management Plan (SMP), Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Gender Action Plan (GAP) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Manage the delivery of major international ESDD, ESMS, identify mitigation measures, and prepare E&S management plans and monitoring services on major international projects for investors and lenders including Multilateral Banks
- Define appropriate corrective action plans and follow-up verification measures
- Conduct high-level verification of on-site stakeholder management through meetings and discussions
- Provide assistance to clients in meeting international lender standards and advise on international best practice in social performance
- Support the development and implementation of social and environmental management systems
- Have a deep understanding of international social safeguards and E&S standards (e.g., Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements, World Bank EHS Guidelines) and stay up to date with ESG developments, regulations and standards
- Deliver well-written and succinct reports and presentations to clients
- Provide technical support to team members to identify and manage social risks
- Compile analysis and preparation of deliverables to contribute to multiple engagement phases; demonstrate capability with low supervision
- Support sustainability and decarbonization-related project activities
- Guide and mentor junior colleagues and share specialist knowledge with the Global Advisory team
- Support proposal development activities under the supervision of project and proposal management professionals
Qualifications
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
4+ years experience in a business / consulting environmentMust be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal / civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search, as applicable)Preferred QualificationsA Master’s degree in a relevant subject such as Social Science (Master in Social Science, Social Work, Sociology, etc.)
8-11 years’ experience in social roles for infrastructure projects (power, oil & gas)Excellent English speaking and report writing skills; ability to work with multi-cultural teams across time zones and virtuallyGood communication skills and client-facing presenceWillingness to travel and multi-task to meet tight timelines; ability to work independentlyPreferred Consultant SkillsBusiness Acumen
