About the Role

Our client is looking for a Deputy Legal for a mining company based in South Jakarta. This position is well-suited for a candidate with a solid legal background and around 57 years of experience in both law firms and corporate environments.

Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will play a key role in supporting legal operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and assisting in providing legal advice across the business. This role begins as an individual contributor with potential to grow as the legal function expands within the organization.

Responsibilities :

• Assist the Legal Head in providing legal advice and support to the company's management and departments on various legal issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the company's operations.
• Support the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
• Help manage and maintain a repository of all legal documents, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
• Support litigation and dispute resolution processes, working with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Assist in representing the company in legal proceedings, mediations, and arbitration sessions.
• Help ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and practices.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing board resolutions, minutes of meetings, and other corporate documents.
• Identify and assess potential legal risks, developing strategies to mitigate them under the guidance of the Legal Head.
• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters and compliance issues.
• Liaise with external legal advisors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and representation of the company's interests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
• Assist in leading and mentoring the legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
