Overview

The Legal Counsel at VIDA is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal functions across the organization. This position requires a dynamic, tech-savvy legal professional with a strong foundation in digital identity, cybersecurity, and regional regulatory frameworks. The individual plays a pivotal role in enabling VIDA’s operations through risk mitigation, compliance assurance, and legal innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the legal team, overseeing all legal aspects of the company’s operations, including contracts, compliance, risk management, and intellectual property.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal agreements, including service agreements, vendor contracts, licensing agreements, data processing agreements, and terms of service related to commercial and product activities.
• Provide legal advice to senior management and cross-functional teams on matters impacting product development and digital identity initiatives.
• Collaborate with product teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch, offering proactive legal input on product design, compliance, and go-to-market strategies.
• Advise on and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection, consumer protection, and sector-specific regulations.
• Safeguard the company’s intellectual property rights, including management of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Support or lead corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder matters, entity management, and maintenance of corporate records.
• Manage legal disputes, regulatory investigations, and litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
• Implement tools, templates, and processes to streamline legal operations, enhance scalability, and manage legal spend efficiently.
• Conduct legal training sessions and create educational materials to raise awareness of legal and compliance issues among employees.
