Job Overview
- Oversee the purchasing of raw materials and supplies, ensuring budgets remain under control.
- Select vendors, set budgetary constraints for the purchasing department, and negotiate pricing on behalf of the company.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies for cost optimization and supply‑chain efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost‑effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and mutually beneficial agreements.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct market research to stay current on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory management strategies to avoid shortages or excesses.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, accounting, economics, or a related field.3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in the retail industry.In‑depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices.Strong budgeting, cost optimisation, and negotiation skills.Knowledge of vendor management and inventory management systems.Analytical mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.Company
