Overview
The Halal Auditor conducts compliance audits of supply chains and manufacturing sites in accordance with applicable Halal standards and regulations. The role evaluates the effectiveness of the Halal Product Assurance System (HPAS / SJPH), identifies risks, and recommends improvements. It is critical to clients’ market compliance and brand reputation in Halal markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site, document, and surveillance audits in line with applicable Halal standards and guidelines (e.g., SJPH, MS, GSO, OIC / SMIIC).
- Verify compliance of ingredients, formulations, processing aids, equipment and hygiene, storage / transportation, and labeling; identify Haram risks and cross-contamination hazards.
- Audit critical control points in slaughtering and processing (e.g., invocation, bleeding, zoning, dedicated utensils, cleaning validation).
- Assess the effectiveness of suppliers’ and outsourced processes’ HAS; review certificates and traceability documentation.
- Prepare audit plans and checklists, record nonconformities, issue audit reports, and propose / track CAPA.
- Provide basic advisory and internal training to clients; share best practices and standards updates.
- Keep current with regulations and standards; help improve internal audit methods and tools.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in one of the following fields : Chemistry, biochemistry, biology, medicine .
Experience
At least 1 year of relevant experience in one or more roles : Production, Procurement, Inspection / Testing, Quality Management, Quality Control, R&D, or Warehousing.Solid understanding of Halal concepts and Halal / Haram determination; familiarity with source verification and documentation review for high risk inputs (e.g., gelatin, enzymes, emulsifiers, flavors, alcohol).Experience with quality systems in food / agri / pharma or foodservice (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 / 9001) is preferred.Strong skills in documentation review, evidence verification, and risk assessment.General Skills
Strong communication and report writing skills; able to complete audit documentation and client communications independently.High integrity, rigor, objectivity, fairness, and confidentiality; willing to travel and work flexibly.Proficiency in English or Arabic preferred; registered auditor or Halal related certifications are a plus.What We Offer
