Rainforest Alliance – M&E Senior Associate Position – Indonesia

Position summary :
The Asia Senior M&E Associate is responsible for coordinating M&E activities in select RA’s technical assistance projects in Asia. He / she works with project managers, other RA staff, project partners and consultants, and local stakeholders to design and implement sound M&E systems that improve understanding of the local context and track progress of project interventions and achievements over time. He / she trains them on M&E principles, tools and processes; safeguards field data quality; undertakes project performance assessments, promoting their use to inform adaptive project management; and ensures evidence-based reporting. He / she also provides support to RA’s Evaluation & Research department in conducting project outcome and impact assessments.

Qualifications :
Undergraduate degree in International Development, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Economics, Natural Resource Management or related field;
At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience designing monitoring and evaluation systems, including Theories of Change, logframes and workplans, and in implementing monitoring and evaluation activities, and / or program or project impact assessments or studies, preferably related to sustainable rural livelihoods, sustainable agriculture or natural resource management, supply chain management, or related topics;
Experience applying field methods (household surveys, farm surveys, etc.) for the collection of social, ecological and / or agronomic monitoring and performance indicators, and in supervising field teams or consultants in the collection of field data;
Experience working with different stakeholder groups to facilitate the design of integrated natural resource management plans is desirable;
Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
Excellent fluency in verbal and written English, and fluency in at least one other major Asian language (Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Sinhalese, Hindi);
Strong organizational skills, with ability to be results-oriented and multi-task, as well as to motivate field staff and teams to manage diverse and time-sensitive activities while delivering quality results;
Proactive, self-motivated, resourceful, innovative, detail-oriented, dependable, strong attention to detail, focused, respectful of institutional procedures;
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with culturally diverse settings and individuals;
Knowledge of, and commitment to environmental issues and sustainability practices;
Ability to travel internationally at least 50% of the time, often in difficult, physically-demanding rural settings;
Experience in a not-for-profit, international organization is preferred.
