Program Background
The SKALA Program is a significant Australian investment designed to help Indonesia address regional disparities in development. It strengthens selected elements of Indonesia’s decentralised government system responsible for the delivery of basic services. The core approach facilitates better collaboration between Indonesian government stakeholders at national and subnational levels to realise synergies that will trigger improved service delivery. It builds on over 19 years of support from Australia.

The Role
As a member of the SKALA Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Knowledge Management & Partnerships drives the “influence” function by managing knowledge management capacity, policy analysis, and communications agenda with internal and external stakeholders. The director oversees a team that produces high‑quality publications, briefs, policy inputs, and communication materials for the Government of Indonesia and other stakeholders.
The director collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team, especially the Director for MERL and Performance, to amplify learnings and direct them toward influencing policy change. Responsibilities include planning and implementing the team’s annual activities based on Thematic Action Plans and Province Action Plans, advising leadership on partnership and dissemination opportunities, coordinating internally to improve knowledge management, and ensuring effective delivery of SKALA’s advocacy agenda.
