Job Purpose
If you are passionate about a sustainable future for our planet by driving increased usage of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, achieving cost-effective scaling up and redesigning the value chain, establishing partnerships both externally and internally, exploring innovative technologies and models throughout the value chain, and working toward a circular economy for plastics while enhancing superior availability (resilience and agility of our supply chain) , then this role is just for you!
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the PCR sourcing strategy in SEAA and PCR allocation plans to achieve our goals to increase the use of post-consumer recycled plastic material in our packaging.
- Implement sourcing strategy through contracts and negotiations.
- Demonstrate an extensive understanding of the PCR market landscape in SEAA to work on a Future-fit supply chain.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers, creating a comprehensive supplier panel in SEAA.
- Lead studies and analysis on waste and collection to identify opportunities for value chain redesign projects.
- Support new suppliers’ development to expand capabilities and create competitiveness.
- Establish and support superior availability (resilience programs related to PCR).
- Drive partnerships around the needs of each business group / business unit.
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on quality, innovation, superior availability, and long-term commercial viability.
- Negotiate with strong negotiation strategies to maximize value and cost savings.
- Connect with suppliers, industry players, and NGOs externally to stay informed about advancements and initiatives along the value chain in SEAA.
- Efficient and timely communication to internal stakeholders and leadership team.
- Achieve financial KPI through suppliers.
- Conduct PCR material price forecasting for SEAA.
- Monitor, track, and analyze the progress of current and upcoming PCR projects.
Work towards creation of a Circular Economy on Plastics for Unilever
Identify and understand the recycling value chains across SEAA.Drive transformative change through value chain redesign to create long-term value and competitive advantage.Build partnerships with suppliers that will help Unilever achieve sustainability targets while driving cost competitiveness.Maximize superior availability and quality of recycled material to enable incorporation in our packaging materials.Drive “fit for purpose” program with the market R&D team to identify and scale up alternate grades and / or recycling technologies.Ensure plans to ensure the long-term viability of such alternate grades and / or recycling technologies.Contribute to Unilever's leading position on plastics sustainability.Support execution of Global / Regional Roll-out programs
Drive the incorporation of PCR into our packaging in line with roll-out plans of Markets / Business groups.Ensure recycling capacities are built to support such plans.Collaborate with the Project teams to ensure that the plans are executed in line with business expectations.Candidate Criteria
Experience & Qualification
At least a bachelor’s degree from a reputable university with at least 5+ years’ experience in Procurement.Passionate about sustainability.Good buying, negotiation, and contracting skills.Strategic sourcing and thinking.Demonstrated and proven leadership capabilities to lead a virtual global team and engage the leadership team.Experience in project management.Experience in commercial skills and managing partnerships.Supply market and FMCG knowledge.Expertise in sustainability and circular economy.Skills
Outstanding communication skills to effectively communicate internally and externally.Excellent presentation skills to convince and engage the leadership team.Buying & negotiation skills (core procurement skills).Digital and analytics knowledge.Financial acumen for business cases and reporting.Project management skills.Leadership
