About The Role
We have an opportunity for a Technical Service Engineer to join our team in Asia. This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and will report to the Technical Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product trials and complete installation & commissioning in accordance with the customers' specifications and layout documentation, whilst meeting the timelines.
- Provide routine maintenance and planned servicing of tna equipment in accordance with service agreements and schedules.
- Provide training to customers (and co-workers) in relation to proper operation, preventative maintenance, and fault finding of tna equipment.
- Provide first, second and third level support in relation to breakdowns and / or customer queries, responding by either telephone or site visits within set timeframes.
- Escalate any issues early to the Aftermarket & Services Manager for a timely resolution.
- Communicate the benefits of Service Agreements to customers and assist the Sales Managers in formulating the Service Agreement as required.
- Promote the value of tna’s original spare parts and upgrades to our customers.
- Provide input and feedback to the Product Development Team relating to product modifications, faults and development potential.
- Attend to customers’ requests for technical assistance : issue fully completed and signed service reports via D365; inform the customer’s representative of the equipment status; assist in payment recovery; maintain a complete list of customer’s equipment, and update databases as necessary to keep installed base data accurate.
- Proactively visit key customers in your region and build strong professional relationships with your customers.
- Report on all service visits and technical issues each week by completing the required steps in D365.
- Support and collaborate with the Aftermarket & Service Managers and Project Managers on all product trials and pre-installation works, ensuring layouts are correct and all documentation has been received.
- Develop strong professional relationships with all customers and provide feedback to the Sales Team regarding prospective capital investment obtained through such relationships.
- Document all equipment in storage and update it regularly.
- Represent tna at trade fairs, exhibitions & networking events (including some weekends).
Skills & Experience
Qualifications in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, industrial electrical trade or other relevant field5-6 years servicing experience with a focus on installation, repair and testing of electronic and mechanical equipmentExperience in a field engineering role, dealing with mechanical, electrical and software issues is considered highlyExposure to the FMCG manufacturing industry (specifically food and packaging) is advantageousWorking knowledge of current market trends and competitorsFully competent in industrial electronic & power theory and schematicsIndustrial software programmingUnderstands PLC / PCMechanical Aptitude, methodical and well organisedEnsures a collaborative approach and is able to seek and listen to feedbackSelf-motivated and driven, able to work unsupervisedAbility to seize opportunities to cross sell tna’s servicesIdentification with tna values including being a team player, passionate, professional, committed, honest and treat people with dignity and respectAble to handle multiple time sensitive projects, be flexible and work accurately & efficiently under pressureAble to develop, build and maintain strong relationships with customers, to ensure long term service opportunitiesAble to problem solve & make decisions in line with organisational philosophies and practicesBilingual with English language proficiency, written and verbalValid Driver’s License and own reliable vehicleValid passport with a minimum of 6 months until expiryUpwards of 80% travel, at short notice, both locally and nationally, including some weekendsSeniority level
