Head of Strategic Finance

Overview

Join Edufarmers International Foundation as Head of Strategic Finance to lead the finance and accounting division, driving the long-term financial health and mission resilience of the organization. This role architects a forward-looking financial function that turns data into actionable strategy, ensures stewardship of capital, and enables our agriculture and stunting prevention programs to operate at peak impact. This is a hands-on leadership role with a mix of independent strategic work and team mentoring.

The organization is a non-profit focused on strengthening food security in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, with programs in Agriculture Services and Development and Stunting Prevention and Nutrition AI Program. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Basic Information : Employment type is a 6-month contract with extension / permanent potential based on performance. Work location is Jakarta, Indonesia. Function : Finance. Seniority Level : Head.

The mission is to embed robust planning, analysis, and governance at the heart of the organization, scale impact, and secure a sustainable future.

Key balance : about 60-70% of time on independent strategic work and execution; 30-40% on mentoring and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership & Planning : Translate the organization\'s mission into a sustainable financial strategy and long-range plan; develop and present financial narratives, analyses, and forecasts to the C-level and Board to guide program scaling, investment, and resource allocation.
• Modeling & Unit Economics : Create robust financial models to assess new initiatives (e.g., establishing new agricultural research centers, Plaza Bertani centers, expanding ZeroStunting). Establish and monitor key metrics (e.g., cost per farmer trained, cost per child\'s nutritional outcome) to drive efficiency and social return on investment.
• Grant & Donor Financial Management : Oversee grant lifecycle budgeting, develop compelling budgets for complex proposals, and design reporting systems that demonstrate stewardship, efficiency, and impact; ensure compliance with diverse donor requirements.
• Financial Operations & Systems : Design and manage end-to-end financial workflows; lead the evaluation and implementation of ERP / finance systems; oversee core accounting functions including closing, audits, tax compliance, and treasury.
• Team Leadership & Capacity Building : Lead and mentor the finance team, and provide training on budgeting, procedures, and grant compliance to non-finance staff.
