The Manager of Operations, Equipment, and Logistics will oversee the operational functions related to vessels and equipment. This role is key to ensuring the seamless execution of vessel operations, including managing the equipment and logistics functions in coordination with other departments.
Main tasks and responsibilities :
Operations Function :
- Liaise with Head Office and local ports and terminals to ensure all vessels (deep sea, short sea, and feeders) are handled according to the program, safely, within port windows, and meeting agreed productivity targets.
- Strive to exceed corporate or local KPI targets for port operations functions, including both internal team functions (primarily reporting) and those offshore under the supervision of SeaLead Head Office Port Operations (e.g., laden exec’s, Cargo Operations, Feeder Operations, Transshipment, etc.).
- Collaborate with Head Office Procurement and Operations teams to ensure cost efficiency and proper payment to suppliers.
- Ensure all internal systems and records related to port operations are consistently up-to-date and verified.
- Serve as the liaison between Indonesia Ports and Terminals and other internal functions (in Indonesia and in the Head Office).
- Spot check port costs, invoices, and performance by conducting regular visits to suppliers.
- Maintain positive, proactive relationships with all Port stakeholders, including third-party agents, transport operators (road, rail, feeder & barge), Customs, port authorities, terminals, and other suppliers.
- Plan and organize resources to meet Head Office’s and Master’s requirements regarding vessel marine, terminal operations, and landside operations.
- Ensure proper execution of the Bay Plan (developed by Liner Department) and the Loading Plan (developed by the terminal) and vessel captain and coordinate the loading process.
- Monitor berth situation and port congestion and communicate updates to Head Office counterparts.
- Keep vessel Masters, Ship Managers and all other interested parties informed of vessels‘ prospects, and provide regular operational updates.
- Liaise with the vessel captain to coordinate documentation, crewchanges, and other requirements while ensuring compliance with immigration andHarbormaster rules and requirements.
Equipment & Logistics Functions :
Coordinate with overseas agencies on day-to-day equipment management issues.Inventory management – demand & supply planning, aging control, FI-FO control, etc.Execution of effective and efficient empty container disposal and empty container repositioning activities.Liaise with external and internal parties to ensure smooth container pick-up / drop-off / sale activities, etc.Develop, execute, and manage one-way container movementsAssist in container sales activities if requiredMonitor demurrage and detention invoicing and collection process and take actions against dispute cases / slow payment in assistance with Finance and Customer Care departments,Source container logistics services for all ports where SeaLead operates in Indonesia and manage annual negotiations with vendors to reduce per-unit repair costs, ensuring they fall below the KPI, in coordination with the Finance and Head Office Procurement teams.Equipment Management System data integrity managementCost management – budget control & invoice processing related to equipment managementAnalysis & Report – produce relevant reports, statistics, and analysisAny other tasks assigned by reporting managers in relation to equipment managementKey interactions (Internal | External) :

Education requirements :
Language requirements :
Bachelor level education, good computer skills (MS office & shipping software), Certificates related to logistics / shipping / marine / container inspection, e.g. IICL
