Program Background
The first phase of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Health Transformation (KITA SEHAT) is a four-year, approximately A$50 million investment by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to work in partnership with the Government of Indonesia (GoI) to advance Indonesia’s human and animal health agendas in identified areas of high priority. Building on elements from the previous phases of Australia’s assistance in the health sector, including the Australia Indonesia Health Security Partnership (AIHSP), KITA SEHAT will continue to support health security and related systems strengthening in the human health and animal health sectors, while renewing Australia's support for primary health care in line with Indonesia's health transformation agenda.
Operating at national and selected subnational levels, the program will provide strategic advice on policy, governance, and service delivery approaches, with a strong alignment in areas where Australia can make distinctive contributions. KITA SEHAT will work through a range of mechanisms including technical assistance, public sector partnerships, research and CSO / NGO grants, and will coordinate with UN agencies and other development partners to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication. Gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion (GEDSI) and climate resilience will be a strong focus of the program and will be integral to achieving national health goals.

The Role
The National Disability Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination of national disability-related activities and facilitating cross-thematic discussions and consultations to ensure disability perspectives are consistently integrated. The Coordinator will also provide technical input and guidance to strengthen the overall effectiveness of national activities.
The National Disability Coordinator will support the GEDSI Lead in engaging with the Government of Indonesia and DFAT, ensuring that disability equity and social inclusion priorities are embedded in program planning and implementation, in line with agendas set by program governance. Under the guidance of the GEDSI Lead, the Coordinator will also collaborate with the Operations, Program, and Development Effectiveness teams to uphold compliance, strengthen quality, and ensure the effectiveness of gender-responsive activities.

About You
Key roles and responsibilities of the position are to provide the following :
Support the day-to-day coordination and implementation of disability-related activities in line with the KITA SEHAT annual work plan.
Assist with resource management, including disability work plan and budget allocation, monitoring of activity spending, and related tasks.
Contribute to the preparation of implementation and progress reports, ensuring disability considerations are well captured.
Coordinate with the Operations, Program, and Development Effectiveness teams to ensure compliance, quality assurance, and monitoring and evaluation of gender-related work.
Support engagement with DFAT and Government of Indonesia stakeholders on disability and GEDSI priorities.
Coordinate with other DFAT programs to strengthen collaboration on disability and GEDSI issues.
Ensure the participation of DFAT and high-level Government of Indonesia officials in program events / activities, in line with guidance from the Program Steering Committee and Technical Committees.
Contribute to the planning and development of the GEDSI Strategy and Action Plan, including organising meetings / discussions with relevant government counterparts.
Support the development of technical frameworks on GEDSI, including governance and capacity-building approaches.
Assist in the design and implementation of GEDSI studies and national-level capacity-building initiatives, as needed.
Support the GEDSI Lead in compiling resources and evidence for six-monthly and annual reports, as well as learning products from GEDSI implementation.
Ensure compliance with DFAT, DT Global, and KITA SEHAT policies on gender, disability, fraud and anticorruption, child protection, PSEAH, and environment safeguards.
Uphold adherence to operational policies, guidelines, and manuals issued by DT Global and KITA SEHAT.
Selection Criteria
Essential Experience and Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies public policy, public health, or related field of study, with a minimum of 5 years of working experience.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to gender equality, disability equity, and social inclusion issues, including a good knowledge of relevant GoA and GoI legislation and policies.
Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement good gender equality, disability, and social inclusion issues practice across organization and / or projects.
Strong attention to detail, with the patience and determination to thoroughly explore issues and identify accurate solutions.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to produce high-quality written reports and documentation.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in English and Indonesian—both written and verbal—with diverse audiences, including a wide range of government stakeholders.
Capable of working independently, managing tight deadlines, and maintaining quality under pressure.
Desirable
Experience working on a DFAT funded development program and familiarity with DFAT strategies and policies related to GEDSI.
Experience working in a GEDSI role in primary health and / or animal health is highly desirable.
Familiarity with gender equity and rights highly preferable.
